2013.09 Training Course "Communication strategies for civil society organizations"
TC on communication strategies for civil society organization took place between 1st - 9th of October 2013 in Los Angeles de San Rafael, very close to Madrid, Spain -> https://www.facebook.com/communicationNGO
|Name: Communication strategies for civil society organizations||Duration: 01-09 October 2013||Location: Madrid, Spain|
|Organizers: Club Deportivo Elemental||Supporters: Youth in Action Programme (Action 3.1)|
|Romanian participants: Victoria Coseru (F); Constantin Vlas (M)|
The project involved 41 people from 15 different countries from EU, SEE and EEC regions: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey. The main objective of the training was to develop an understanding of Marketing Management of NGOs and to create a positive environment using PR methods to promote voluntarism.
The first day of the project was the day of travel and arrival. After settling in everyone was gathered to the main meeting room for short introduction of the organizers, project, rules and the agenda. Although people were tired from travel, most stayed the hotel lounge for unofficial socializing and getting to know each other. People sat in one big circle and just talked little about themselves and their interests. During the other days we had some sessions about Youth in Action Program, Social Media and PR and promotion of volunteering. We learned the basic tip and tricks about non-verbal communication, paralanguage and kinesics (body language and eye contact) and after that, during a short press conference simulation, we put our theoretical knowledge into practice.
The most interesting part of the project was the trip to Madrid and Segovia. The most popular place happened to be Reina Sofia museum, where people saw famous artworks made by Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. And of course there were also lots of other awesome and very interesting installations, paintings and photos. Some of us got really exited of the countless number of brand shops and some found exactly what they were looking for from the most unexpected places. Others tried out the comfortable city tour bus and some stayed to Madrid until the late hours and enjoyed tapas in the company of locals.
We also visited Segovia, a small magical fairy-tale capital of castles with lots of attractive touristic places: Cathedral, Alcazar and Aqueduct. But these places are not the only magic in Segovia. At the square, in the center, middle-aged people were dancing tango really passionately, while children were playing and putting ice-cream masks on their faces. There, we sat on the concrete and ate oranges while sun was putting its gentle warm hands on our beings. How nice: to feel and know that you exist while hearing tango-music and laughter of children, and smelling and tasting juices of oranges. All your senses are completely open. Could you need anything more?
Of course, many of us have fallen to marketing tricks and bought postcards and souvenirs, and many of us photographed and had photo-shootings. But, in the end, most of us just enjoyed and caught the moments in our memories and that can never be replaced by digital illusion.
For the conclusion, this TC was full of adventures and you can get better image, when you check out the photos and videos from bellow:
